A Tire Swing Story is a bite-sized "imagining" inspired by an object I discover while wandering. It could be a curbside trash gem or a message sprayed on a wall. A lost mitten, or an antique store find. Anything goes. I photograph the object and post them together, the story and its inspiration. There will be a new story every Monday and Wednesday. On Fridays, I'll discuss writing, life, love, and coffee. (In no particular order and maybe all at once.)

Casual Mondays: Before I die I want to...

Hi guys. It's Britt.
This post is for a dear friend. She's one of the star-shiniest people I've ever known, and she's been dealing with some scary health issues lately. I wanted to share this with you today cause I know she'll get a kick out of it.

I was walking home the other day and noticed this wall. It's part of a global art project intended to infuse life into neglected public spaces. The one that I saw was a massive chalkboard with: "Before I die I want to..." on it. People wrote whatever they felt.

The responses range from the silly to the profound, and a few of them actually brought tears to my eyes.

What about you guys? What would you have added to this wall? And why on earth haven't you done it yet?

Hope to see you back here on Friday for a brand spanking new tire swing story.

  1. What a great project! I'll have to get back to you with my answer, or you'll have to visit the wall again to see it. Thanks for sharing Britt!
